• How to Unwind After a Stressful Day

    Have you ever came home from work or school and felt so relieved that the day was finally over? Now that your home you can finally relax after a stressful day. Yes, I have experienced this many times and I’m sure you have too. Some people handle stress in a different way than others. But I’m one of those people who can’t handle stress. I used to let it take control of my personality, like for example, I would have mood swings and eat unhealthy food. It caused me to become sick and too tired to do the things I love to do. Stress can become very problematic later on in life. It can cause health problems, like depression, anxiety, mood swings, high blood pressure and more. That’s why I decided to research ways on how to relieve stress.

    Currently, I’m working in the medical billing and coding field. I work for a large corporation and some days it can be very stressful. In the billing world, you have to make sure claims are processed and paid correctly, figure out why the insurance company denied the claim, meet a daily quota, and complete spreadsheets. It’s an endless cycle. When I come home I feel so mentally and physically tired to do anything. That’s when I realized I have to relieve myself from the stress from work.

    After doing some research, I learned some things I can do to handle stress. I know we all have experienced stress once in a while, whether it be work or school. So I wanted to share with you on how I unwind after having a stressful day.

    • Journaling

    Journaling is one of my favorite things to do when I come home from a stressful day. Writing is very therapeutic. It gives me the freedom to express myself. I can write about what’s on my mind, my day and ideas. After I finished writing, I feel so relieved after being able to write down what I was going through.

    • Cooking

    Cooking is a great stress reliever if you enjoy cooking. I love cooking my favorite meal when I’m stress because it makes me excited to eat something so delicious. One of my favorite meal is tacos! I love cutting up the tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese. I love the smell of the seasons when I’m cooking the meat. Tacos make me happy. For dessert, I love baking chocolate chip cookies and brownies.Ā šŸ˜Š

    • Exercise

    Exercise is another great stress reliever. It’s good for the body, mind, and soul. When you exercise your brain produces endorphins that naturally improve your mood, relieves stress and helps you sleep better at night. One of my favorite exercise to do is yoga, I love the meditation, being able to stretch and relax my muscle. There are so many different exercises that you can do, just do some research and find which one that works best for you.

    • Drawing/Coloring

    Drawing and coloring are another one of my favorite things to do after a stressful day. It’s a great way to let your mind get lost in the colors and expressing yo ur creativity. Occasionally, I love to draw. I like to draw when I’m in a quiet room and allow my pencil to take the lead. Lately, I’ve been challenging my creativity and learning how to do water paint. This is also another relaxing thing to do. I love being creative.

    • Meditation

    I love to meditate before I go to sleep. It helps clear my mind from the stress. Before I go to bed, I like to light a candle, turn off all the lights, tv and I sit in a dark quiet room. I do my breathing exercise and concentrate on releasing the stress I experienced throughout the day.Ā  After doing this for a few minutes, I play some relaxing instrumental music on Spotify until I fall asleep. It helps me to relax even more when I go to sleep. Meditation is wonderful and you’ll be surprised how relaxed you are when you go to sleep.

    So here are some of the things I love to do when I come home and unwind after a stressful day. Stress is not a good feeling to experienced and unfortunately, we all go through some hard times from time to time. But they are ways to help you relieve stress.Ā  So you’re able to defeat anything that will come tomorrow.       I can definitely do some Excerising. My issue is when I deql with Stress at my job which is at least 3 days minimun at my work I dont have the staminum to do anything but get home and dive in bed. I dont have the drive to deal with anything or anyone. I definitely would lobe to Excerise or go back to drawing. I just need the drive

        I feel the same way sometimes. My job is very draining that sometimes I just want to go home and go to sleep. But I realize that this is my personal time to enjoy myself and do something that I love to do. I love going to the park, sitting by the beach, writing, taking photos and editing. It helps me relieve stress and achieve my personal goals. Stay motivated and you will get that drive. šŸ˜Š
